The resources to support your care. The personal involvement of a family-run hospice.
Choosing a hospice means trusting a team with someone you love. You deserve to know who is behind that team—and who takes responsibility for the care.
Family owned. Locally run.
Ownership stays close to the care.
Established 2013
Compassionate Care™ Hospice is family owned and locally run, with a growing network of branches and owners who remain involved in day-to-day care. Our growth gives us resources to support our teams and patients across the communities we serve. Our approach remains personal, with ownership close enough to become involved in individual cases.
When care becomes complicated
Our owners work with the team to help navigate challenging situations, address concerns, and explore options when families face barriers to care. We also consider pro bono care on an individual basis for people facing financial hardship.
We believe families deserve clear explanations, thoughtful decisions, and people who follow through. Whether you are arranging care today or exploring your options, we begin by listening.
Who pays for hospice?
Let us help you understand your coverage.
You do not need to understand your insurance before contacting us.
Our team can help verify your benefits, explain what is covered, identify any potential costs, and coordinate the steps needed to arrange care.
For eligible patients, Medicare Part A covers hospice services, including care from the hospice team and medications, equipment, and supplies related to the terminal illness and related conditions. There is no deductible for the hospice benefit. Limited copayments may apply to outpatient symptom-management medications and inpatient respite care.
If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, you can still receive the Medicare hospice benefit. Original Medicare generally pays for your hospice care.
Medi-Cal and other insurance
Medi-Cal covers hospice for eligible members. Private insurance and other health benefits may also provide coverage; our team can check your specific plan and explain any authorization or network requirements.
Care costs and living expenses are different
Medicare generally does not pay ongoing room and board at an assisted living community, board-and-care home, or nursing facility under the hospice benefit. Hospice-arranged short-term inpatient and respite stays follow different coverage rules. We can help you understand this distinction before you make arrangements.
Uninsured or worried about costs?
Please talk with us. We will review your situation, explore available coverage and assistance, and discuss whether pro bono care may be an option. Financial concerns deserve a conversation.
